Carbon Steel & Galvanized Fittings

Leading Supplier, Stockist and Exporter of Carbon Steel & Galvanized Fittings

BB Infras is a trusted supplier, stockist and exporter of Carbon Steel and Galvanized Iron pipe fittings for water supply, gas distribution, fire protection, HVAC and general industrial piping applications. We supply threaded, buttweld and grooved carbon steel fittings from our extensive Mumbai inventory.

Our carbon steel and galvanized fittings range covers standard threaded fittings to IS 1239 and BS 143, buttweld fittings to ASME B16.9, and ERW pipe to ASTM A53 / IS 1239. Black steel (plain) and galvanized (hot-dip zinc coated) variants are available in all standard sizes from ¼" NB to 8" NB.

Carbon Steel and Galvanized Fittings

Galvanizing is performed by hot-dip process to IS 4736 / BS EN ISO 1461 providing 45–85 microns zinc coating. This provides superior corrosion protection for outdoor, buried, and wet-service applications including water mains, fire-fighting ring mains and underground gas distribution networks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is hot-dip galvanizing?
A: Hot-dip galvanizing is a process of coating steel by immersing it in molten zinc at ~450°C. The result is a metallurgically bonded zinc layer (typically 45–85 microns) that provides long-lasting cathodic and barrier protection against corrosion.
Q: Are GI fittings suitable for drinking water?
A: Yes — GI fittings to IS 1239 are widely used in potable water distribution systems. For newer installations, CPVC or SS fittings may be preferred to avoid zinc leaching in soft-water environments.
Q: What sizes are in stock?
A: Threaded GI and CS fittings are stocked from ¼" to 4" NB. Larger threaded sizes (4"–8") and buttweld carbon steel fittings (½"–24" NB) are available on order.
